Erasmus+ KA103 Scholarship Overview

Outgoing Mobility:

 

1. Students studying at the University of Belgrade

If you are granted an Erasmus+ scholarship for one semester or the whole academic year to go and study abroad you will receive: 

 

Subsistence allowance depending on the host country, as follows:

  • Tuition fees are waived according to Erasmus+ Program rules

 

 

Students from less advantaged socio-economic backgrounds (not including students with disabilities/ special needs students), applying for student mobility for studies are entitled to receive extra funding of 200 EUR per month.

A student of less advantaged socio-economic background shall be considered any student in whose household the total monthly income does not exceed two average net monthly salaries, i.e., 118,439.33 RSD in total. This amount has been determined by the average net monthly income for the period January – June 2020, in the amount of 59,219.67 RSD, published by the Office for Statistics of the Republic of Serbia.

As proof of disadvantaged socio-economic background, a candidate must submit:

1. Confirmation of the average monthly income per household member, for the past 12 months,issued by the Municipality where the candidate has address of residence, as stated in the personal ID card or another document issued by the relevant authority (Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia), confirming the student’s address of residence.

2. Print-out of the personal ID card or another document issued by the relevant authority (Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia), confirming the student’s address of residence.

3. A signed declaration by which a student, under full penalty of perjury, confirms that the data provided in the submitted documentation are true and complete and authorizes the relevant authority to double-check, process, store or use in accordance with the current legislation.

Students carrying out traineeships will receive an additional top-up of 100 EUR per month.

Students from less advantaged socio-economic backgrounds, taking part in traineeship mobility, may only receive additional support due to their socio-economic background. They will not be eligible for additional funding for traineeships as well.

 

Important Information (Students):

 

Accommodation and meals are not provided. You will need to use your subsistence allowance to cover these expenses. For information about available places in students’ dormitories or renting a flat, please contact the host University upon receiving the confirmation of acceptance to the mobility program. If you are coming to the University of Belgrade, you may contact our Erasmus Student Network (ESN BelUPgrade) http://belupgrade.esn.rs/ and they can help you with getting around and finding accommodation.

 

Travel costs and health insurance are not covered within the framework of the Program.

Each participant is strongly advised to purchase health insurance before the start of the mobility period, for the entire duration of their stay abroad. A copy of the policy must be presented to the relevant Office in charge of mobility upon the participant’s arrival to the host university.

 

Subsistence allowance will be paid out in two installments based on the following criteria:

First installment of the grant - upon the receipt of the Confirmation of Arrival sent to the home University by the relevant contact at the host University. The participant in mobility is required to have an active foreign currency account for payment in Euros. Please make sure that you open a bank account payable in foreign currency before you start your mobility abroad.

Second installment of the grant – upon completing the procedure referred to in After mobility section of the Mobion platform. The remainder of the grant will be transferred to the same foreign currency account the participant has opened for this purpose.

The amounts shown here are gross amounts of both travel costs and the individual support grant and as such are subject to taxation in accordance with the national legislative of the Republic of Serbia.

 

Upon arrival first visit the International Relations Office of your host University. If you are staying more than 3 months you will need to get a temporary stay visa or student’s visa. Either way is you need to register at the local Office for Foreigners. For more information, please contact the host University’s International Relations Office.

 

Please note that, according to the rules and regulations of the Erasmus+ program, the minimum duration of student mobility for studies, for which a student is entitled receive the full amount of the individual grant support is three (3) months. The minimum duration of mobility for student mobility for traineeships is two (2) months.  If the student does not fulfill the minimum mobility program requirement, they will be required to return the full amount of the funds for implementing their mobility, indicated in the Grant Agreement the student has signed with the University of Belgrade.

The minimum duration of the 3-month mobility period shall not apply if the student’s mobility was interrupted or discontinued due to force majeure, whereas the reasons for interruption/ discontinuation shall be reported to the National Agency reviewed on case to case basis.  

By signing the relevant Learning Agreement, and subsequently the Grant Agreement, the candidate takes on the responsibility to honor its terms and conditions. Failure to do so, may result in subsequent reimbursement of the part or full amount of the individual support grant. However, reimbursement shall not be requested when the participant has been prevented from completing his/her mobility activities due to force majeure, as detailed above.

 

2. Staff (Teaching/Research and Administrative) Working at the University of Belgrade

Note: If mobility period is longer than 14 days: Up to and including the 14th day of activity you will get 100% of Subsistence allowance. For every additional day you will receive 70% of Subsistence allowance.

Important Information (Staff):

For travel costs, please note that with the University of Belgrade now having a program country university status it is our responsibility to cover the cost of travel to our outgoing staff. The participating staff member will be responsible for buying the travel ticket themselves and the refund will be done by the home university. Please note that all costs exceeding the above amounts will be borne by the participants themselves.

Medical insurance is not provided by Erasmus+ program. Each participant is advised to purchase health insurance before the start of the exchange period, for the entire duration of their stay abroad. A copy of the policy must be presented to the relevant Office in charge of mobility upon the participant’s arrival to the host university.
